How we make your glasses

  1. 1

    Frame selection

We measure your face width and select a frame where your pupils sit near the horizontal centre of the rims.

  2. 2

    Centration photography

We mark your visual axis directly on the dummy lenses while the frame sits on your nose.

  3. 3

    Lens cutting

The workshop cuts your optical lenses to match the frame rim profile and bevel angle.

  4. 4

    Facial adjustment

We adjust the temple tips behind your ears and set the nose pads so the glasses stay steady.

Questions about this service

Do you perform eye tests on site?

No. We are a dispensing workshop. You bring an in-date prescription from your optometrist, and we build your glasses to those numbers.

How long does a complete pair take to make?

Standard single-vision lenses take three to five working days from your frame fitting.

Can I bring my own prescription from any UK optician?

Yes. We accept all written prescriptions signed by a General Optical Council registered optometrist within the last two years.

Notes from our counter

★★★★★
I sent my favourite acetate frames to Blythe Optical for new prescription lenses. The focal alignment is exact and the bevel cut sits flush against the frame rim.
David P., Leeds, GB
★★★★☆
Ordered the titanium frames with distance lenses. The package arrived safely and the frame weighs very little on the bridge of my nose.
Sarah T., Bristol, GB
★★★★★
The glasses feel solid. Screws have stayed tight through daily workshop use and the lenses do not distort at the edges.
Colin M., Manchester, GB
