Terms & Conditions
These terms govern spectacle glazing, frame repairs, and optical dispensing services provided by Blythe Optical. By placing an order with our workshop, you agree to these operating terms.
Section · 01
Parties and scope
These terms apply to all dispensing, lens glazing, and frame repair services agreed between Blythe Optical and the customer. We act solely as an optical dispensing workshop and do not carry out ocular health examinations or sight tests.
Section · 02
Booking and quotes
Quotations given over the phone or by message are estimates based on your description. A final price is confirmed once we physically inspect your spectacle frame and verify your written prescription from a registered optometrist.
Section · 03
Performance of the work and access to the premises
All work is carried out on our workshop bench using calibrated optical equipment. Customers are responsible for providing an in-date, accurate prescription. We reserve the right to refuse glazing into frames that exhibit severe structural degradation or brittle acetate.
Section · 04
Prices, payment after completion and invoices
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling. Payment is due in full upon collection of the completed spectacles or repair work. We accept cash on completion and bank transfer against invoice. Spectacles remain the property of Blythe Optical until full payment is received.
Section · 05
Cancellation and rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule a fitting consultation at any time before bench production commences. Because prescription lenses are manufactured to custom biometric and optical dimensions, cancellations made after lens cutting begins will incur the wholesale cost of the lens blanks.
Section · 06
Liability, insurance and complaints
We carry professional liability cover for all workshop activities. While all care is taken when working on customer-supplied vintage or used frames, old plastic and corroded metals carry inherent risks of breakage during heating and lens insertion. Complaints regarding lens accuracy must be raised within thirty days of collection.
Section · 07
Governing law
These terms and all workshop contracts are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
